Curtis High School - Orchestra Club Constitution

ASB Constitution & Bylaws

Article One: Name of the Club

Section 1: The name of this organization shall be the Curtis High School Orchestra Club.

Article Two: Purpose and Goals

Section 1: The purpose of the organization is to develop music skills and String Techniques through performance and competition.

Section 2: The club will participate in school events, local and state competitions, as well as national competitions and festivals.

Article Three: Membership

Section 1: Members will include any student that has purchased an ABS Card and approved by the director to participate. It is highly suggested that members be enrolled in a music class at Curtis High School.

Article Four: Officers

Section 1: Officers in the club will consist of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.

Section 2: Officers are determined by the leaders of each section.

Section 3: The role of the President is to help the advisor organize performances and events, and will be filled by the concert master.

Section 4: The role of the Vice President is to assist and assume the role of President in his/her absence, and will be filled by the 2nd violin section leader.

Section 5: The role of the Secretary is to record the planning and execution of activities, and will be filled by the viola section leader.

Section 6: The role of Treasurer is to keep record of and approve all financial transactions, and will be filled by the cello section leader.

Article Five: Quorum

Section 1: A quorum for all meetings shall consist of one more than half of the total membership.

Article Six: Method of Amendment

Section 1: This constitution may be amended by a two thirds (2/3) majority of members present at regularly scheduled meetings.
